MSPM0L1306: high current consumption when < VDD

Hi,
customer develops a low power application. He could tune his application to <100uA current consumption. But when power up (with low voltage ramp) the MSPM0 consumes up to 2mA until VDD (or BOR ) is reached. I think this is due to leakage current because the ports are undefined/floating. How can you avoid this behaviour? Use of an external reset device?

Hi Holger,

Only after power on can MCU enter the low power mode. To implement low power, you need to set in initialization first. So it is expected to be without low power when the MCU is still powering up.

so you would need a load switch to cut VDD complete before VDD is up?

Hi Holger,

I don't get your point. MCU need to init first and then enter low power by code. So if the MCU is still powering on, which means user's code does not start running, MCU will cost power as normal mode of course.

Hi Yuhao,
the MCU is not power on, the VDD is <1.55V. So it is not initialized. At this point customer see high current consumption ~2mA. I think mainly through floating ports.

OK, you are right. The MCU is still not initialized.

But the current may come from the charging of capacitors between VDD and GND, or capacitors between VCORE and GND.

Could the customer keep the supply at a certain voltage(for example 1.4V) and test the current consumption again?
