AM2634: Is Sitara support planned for the MacOS version of CCStudio?

Part Number: AM2634
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CCSTUDIO

I saw here that the Sitara is not supported on the MacOS version of CCStudio v12. Is Sitara support planned?

  • Hello Kyle,

Yes, support was planned for this and should be available in the latest release. I think that page contains some Out-of-date information. The AM2* Sitara MCU devices are supported in CCS Studio (MacOS).

  • Zackary, I downloaded CCStudio IDE 12.7.0 for MacOS and do not see the Sitara family of devices on the list of available components to select. What should I select to get the Sitara device support?

  • Hey Kyle,

Let me reach out to our SDTO team and get some additional information for you.

  • Hey Kyle,

I want to apologize for the misinformation earlier. AM2x will be officially supported in CSS starting with CCS Theia 1.4 (release next week), and CC Eclipse 12.8 (August Release).

To get going with Sitara MCU devices on CCS 12.7 please follow the steps outlined below:

    1. Start CCS 12.x
    2. Go to ‘Help’ -> ‘Install New Software…’
    3. In the “Work with” dropdown, select “Code Composer Studio v12 Updates”
    4. In the list that gets populated, scroll down and select the “Sitara MCU Device Support” and “Shared Device Support” entries, and then click ‘Next’ to install them.
    5. Wait for new packages to be installed, and click on ‘Restart Now’ when prompted.
    6. Once restarted, AM2x support should now be available.

    Best Regards,

    Zackary Fleenor
