Hi expert,
Customer is seeing if AM2432 could fit their new multi protocol servo drives project having these questions:
1.Does TSN support switch functions?
2. Can the application of 1-to-2 FOC requiring PWM frequency of 100K plus ECAT communication be realized? If it can achieve DC synchronization cycle, how much can it achieve?
Thanks!
Joyce
Hello Joyce,
Thanks for reaching out to Texas Instruments E2E support forum.
Our domain expert is out of office for couple of days. Responses to this thread might be delayed.
Thanks for your patience.

Hi Tushar,
This case is in urgency for customer's decision on whether or not use TI's solution, customer is making decision this week, please help check internally for anyone who could provide insights, thanks!
Joyce
In the future I recommend asking two unrelated questions as two different posts.
1.Does TSN support switch functions?
Yes. See https://www.ti.com/lit/pdf/spry316 for high level overview, https://software-dl.ti.com/mcu-plus-sdk/esd/AM243X/latest/exports/docs/api_guide_am243x/ENET_CPSW_TSN_GPTP.html for details.
2. Can the application of 1-to-2 FOC requiring PWM frequency of 100K plus ECAT communication be realized? If it can achieve DC synchronization cycle, how much can it achieve?
Basically yes if I understand your question, see https://www.ti.com/lit/pdf/sprad03 for more benchmark details and some further EtherCAT benchmarks at https://software-dl.ti.com/processor-industrial-sw/esd/ind_comms_sdk/am243x/latest/docs/am243x/ethercat_slave/ethercat_datasheet.html .

Hi Pekka,
Thanks for your reply. For the second question here's an easier description: Could AM2432 support single chip to drive 2 servo motors with 20kHz PWM plus ECAT communication, and DC sync time shorter than 500us?
Thanks
Joyce
Yes, see post above for links. 50us cycletime with DC as stated in link https://software-dl.ti.com/processor-industrial-sw/esd/ind_comms_sdk/am64x/latest/docs/am64x/ethercat_slave/ethercat_datasheet.html . Details on FOC loop and PWMs in the other link https://www.ti.com/lit/pdf/sprad03 .
