EtherCAT firmware is available in the Industrial Communications SDK (https://www.ti.com/tool/download/INDUSTRIAL-COMMUNICATIONS-SDK-AM243X/09.01.00.03). It can be found at {INDUSTRIAL_COMMS_SDK_INSTALL_DIR}\source\industrial_comms\ethercat_slave\icss_fwhal\firmware

One more query, which EtherCAT example are you using for your use case?

I am using <ethercat_slave_simple_demo_am243x-lp_r5fss0-0_freertos_ti-arm-clang>example.

I would like to know more about whether Ethercat must use a firmware in the RPU to act as the slave controller of Ethercat according to my understanding. All the firmware I see under icss_fwhal seems to be related to R5. According to my search, I did not find the part about downloading and updating rpu firmwar in the example project. Is there a problem with my understanding?

I found the code in tiescbsp.c. Through your explanation, I understand how this ethercat example works. Now our project can continue.

by the way, If I want to further modify ethercat's firmware, is the source code available as open source.
