MSP432E401Y: Ethernet issue over 30 & 60 meter Cat6e cable

Dear Team,

we are using 100base T ethernet with external magnetics part number PT61018PEL.

When we use with 5Metre Cat6e Cable its working fine(link & data transfer), but when we use with 30 meter cable, we are not getting link & data.

Our requirement is 30 & 60 meter cable.

Could you help on this issue?

    Longer cable lengths can lead to greater signal attenuation, especially if the cable quality is not optimal or if there are other sources of interference along the transmission path.

    Hi,

      TM4C129 Ethernet conforms to IEE 802.3 specification. The cable length can be up to 100m. I don't know what is causing your problem. We are not experts of the physical cables. Our knowledge is on the MCU side only. You might want to try:

      - A different Cat6e cable. Does it make a difference?

      - Use a Cat5e cable. Does it make a difference?

      - Try another board.

      - Can you repeat the same issue on a LaunchPad? The LaunchPad uses a different magnetics that has been proven to work with TM4C's integrated PHY. I'm not familiar with PT61018PEL and neither do we have knowledge on this particular part.
