In this case, do you use 2 separate encoders in daisy chain for getting 2 positions - one for CPW and other for SPW?

It can be viewed as 2 encoder in daisy chain.  the CPW ( with 6 bit CRC ) and SPW ( with 16 bit CRC). There should not be timeout any between 2 encoders in the daisy chain, otherwise we will not be able to read SPW from 2nd encoder.

Our firmware uses 40 us timeout by default as per the specification. If needed, it can be updated to 31.25 us for 32 kHz or any other value as per the need.

Thank you for the reply. I saw that BiSS-C specification has 2 types of timeout

-Static Time out , often about ~20us

- Adaptive timeout , 1.5 xTma

Question

1 - It is safe to reduce timeout to 20us 

2- Does current implementation supports adaptive timeout

It is possible to do this by modifying the application. It is hard-coded to 40 us right now.

It is not supported right now. We will have to review if this can be implemented or not.

Is it sufficient to make the change at biss_drv.c to change the timeout delay to 20us
