AM2732: How to use SPI to read and write PMIC's 0x409 register?

Part Number: AM2732

We are currently using a two piece cascaded millimeter wave project based on AM2732. In function Disable_WD_ViaPMIC(), we find that to configure the 409 register, the second byte sent by SPI needs to be configured as page 4(0x80).

May I ask if all registers starting with 4 are configured this way? And how do I read the value of a register starting with 4? For example, a register with an offset address of 409.

  • Hi,

I understand this in reference to an AM2732 MCU project, but I am going to assign this to the PMIC team to help answer PMIC configuration questions like this. If AM2732 SPI PMIC writes/reads are functioning correctly and as expected, then the problem is likely in how the PMIC documentation is being interpreted. We'll find someone in that group that can help with that.

    Thank you,

    -Randy

  • Hi,

What PMIC are you using? I need to know so that I can get the appropriate expert to look at it.

  • The model of PMIC is LP876242.

  • Hello,

Yes, the second byte in 0x409 register address represents page number as shown in the SPI communication protocol diagrams in PMIC datasheet.

When SPI Interface is used, the above listed register pages are addresses with the PAGE[2:0] bits: 0x0 addresses Page 0, 0x1 addresses Page 1, 0x2 addresses Page 2, 0x3 addresses Page 3, similarly 0x4 addresses page 4.

In PMIC GUI software, you could see below simply that reading works simply writing 0x409 in register address and it reads the value and same goes for writing.

However, in application software how that has been taken care of that PMIC team doesn't know.
