MSPM0C1104: GPIO Open collector Setting

Part Number: MSPM0C1104
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SYSCONFIG

Tool/software:

Hi team,

A quick confirmation.

Is MSPM0C1104 GPIO can be set as open-collector ?

If yes, could you share how to do it ?

Thanks,

Kenley

  • Hi Kenley,

There are two 5V Tolerant Open-Drain IO pin in MSPM0C1104. As MOS is used in MSPM0 IO circuit instead of BJT, these two pin is open-drain instead of open-connector.

  • Below is the IOMUX introduction of MSPM0C1104, and the feature of open-drain pin is introduced by highlight part.

And the specific open-drain IO pin number can be found in datasheet. Here for M0C1104 is PA0 and PA1. If customer want to use open-drain or open-connector function, you could recommend him to use these two pin.

  • Hi Pengfei,

    Thank you for your reply.

    Understood.

Could you share how should customer configure on sysconfig ?

Is it change the setting of "internal resistor" in "digital IOMUX features" for the GPIO as "pull-up resistor"?

    Thanks,

    Kenley

  • Hi Kenley,

As this figure shows, the open-drain pin has no pull-up resistor. Customer use OD pin for the purpose of changing IO pin voltage at the logic 1. So the OD pin can not be pull-up to 3.3V. You could recommend costumer to configure "Internal Resistor" to "No Resistor" and tell him to weld a external pull-up resistor to a external voltage source (5V tolerant).
