I have reviewed the following errata documents:

AM64x/AM243x Processor Silicon Revision 1.0, 2.0 (Rev. H)

I have a question regarding the workaround for INDUSTRIAL-COMMUNICATIONS-SDK-AM243X Version: 09.02.00.08 for errata i2138.

Q. What specific operation is referred to as "tear down" that causes this errata?

Hi Ryohei,

For a source thread:

A "teardown" command will stop transferring data on a boundary which is appropriate for the type of attached peripheral and clear and mask any peripheral specific functionality (DMA event counters, etc.).

After stopping data transfer, the source thread sends a 'NULL data' teardown message which is automatically propagated to destination thread.

Once the thread teardown is complete and ready to be reused, the thread can be re-enabling again.

So is this a workaround only necessary if you want to perform teardowns and configuration changes after a transfer has begun?

Apologies for the delayed response.

Your understanding above is correct. As mentioned in the errata, only the situations that could cause data corruption mentioned in the details section require the workaround to be implemented.
