MSPM0L1306: Error -6305 , Unable to flash custom board

Hi Robert,

Have you try to test the VDD voltage when download image to your board?

For XDS110, there only have 200mA current driver abaility, I am not sue if this can source your board.

Have you tried with Board power supply?

I've looked at the 3.3V line with an o-scope and it didn't drop during the flash process. I can take some shots later and post them in this thread if that would help.

Are there any other useful signals you'd like to see on the scope shot?

1. Try observe SWDIO and SWCLK's analog signal, there might be large noise.

Hey Helic,

The first scope capture has the 3.3V PWR rail in Yellow and the SWCLK in Blue.

This next image has the SWDIO in Yellow and the SWCLK in Blue. I can see some noise at the very start when I try to start the programming. Is that normal?

I've tried a lot of the steps, but I can't find the exacts steps for a factory reset. Here's the things I've tried below:

1. I tried to use the MSPM0_Factory_Reset_Tool but I keep getting an Install error that I don't know how to fix.

2. I tried to do the reset through Uniflash but I'm getting the same Error- 6305 when I try DSSM Mass Erase or DSSM Factory Reset.

3. I've tried manually pulling NRST to GND and BSL to both GND and 3.3V. The guide said to "Push the BSL button", but I wasn't sure if that is supposed to pull it high or low.

Let me know if I'm doing anything wrong.

pull low Reset and pull high PA18 at the same time, then release Reset, keep PA18 high, then release PA18, device will enter BSL mode.

If this method doesn't work, then this chip is locked.

Hey Helic,

I tried manually resetting like you described and I got a new code. I get an Error -1001, followed by an Error -2064, then it floods with Error -614 until it hits the retry limit.

I then pulled my NRST pin low to manually reset the device and I once again get Error -6305 - PRSC Module Failed to write to a router register.

I'm just trying to run the Debugger on empty_LP_MSPM0L1306_nortos_ticlang with the device switched to the SOT-16 DYY package. Can you think of what could be causing this?

This depends on customer's previous operations, such as incorrect nonmain operations, unstable SWD signal...

Try to replace the M0 on the PCB.

I've replaced this M0 once before. Do you have any guidance so that if I replace the IC it again this won't happen?

I plan on just trying to program this with the "empty" premade file in the SDK.

And from previous debug, it seems there is no way to access the broken chip.

Please also ask the customer what actions they took.

Hey Helic, 

Just want to close the loop here. I redid some of the PCB design and I found that C7 being 330nF was below the recommended 470nF for the core rail. I changed that capacitor made a couple other small adjustments but I think the capacitor was the important one.

I can now flash my board and it works as expected.
