[FAQ] MCU-PLUS-SDK-AM243X: How-to test FSI in a 2-device loopback on AM243x LP or EVM

Hi, AM243x MCU SDK includes an FSI internal loopback example, but I would like to test an external loopback using 2 boards. How can I do it?

Hardware:

From AM243x LaunchPad Development Kit User's Guide (Rev. F) (ti.com) we have:

Device 1 (J16) <-> Device 2 (J16)

RX0_CLK <-> TX0_CLK
TX0_CLK <->RX0_CLK
GND <-> GND (both lines of ground)
RX0_D0 <-> TX0_D0
TX0_D0 <-> RX0_D0

Connect UART for both boards
Rebuild / Rerun loopback demo on both devices
Press Enter on "Node" device 2 first, then press Enter on "Lead" which is device 1

Alternative (recommended) use "Fast serial interface (FSI) adapter board evaluation module" daughter card on top of LP.

Device 1 (J7 Rev C) <-> Device 2 (J16)

RX0_D0 <-> TX0_D0
TX0_D0 <-> RX0_D0
