TMS570LS3137: cold reset and memory, bootloader

Part Number: TMS570LS3137

Tool/software:

Hello,

We have our software with the bootloader part and the application part. The external watchdog TPS65381A (NRES PIN) is connected to our MCU TMS570 (NPORRST PIN) and it move out from standby state every time we are power on (IGN pin connected to VBAT).

We wanted to activate the watchdog in application mode, and keep the possibility to move from application to bootloader. But this seems not possible without triggering a reset because the bootloader part will not serve the external watchdog, it would maintain it disabled when running and application would activate it.

The question is : Is as the watchdog is going to trigger a MCU cold reset (with NPORRST PIN), is there is any memory which can survive and retain the information about what to do for the bootloader when back ?

Thank you !

Regards,

Marc
