TMDS243EVM: SFDP Role in Booting Process of TMDS243EVM.

Part Number: TMDS243EVM

Tool/software:

Hi ,

We are currently working with the TMDS243EVM and need some clarification regarding the role of the SFDP (Serial Flash Discoverable Parameters) in the booting process of this evaluation module.

Specifically, we would like to understand:

  1. How the SFDP is utilized during the boot process of the TMDS243EVM.
  2. Whether the SFDP file gets parsed during the booting of the TMDS243EVM.
  3. The significance of the SFDP file in the booting sequence.
  4. Any supporting documentation or reference materials on the SFDP file relevant to the TMDS243EVM.

Your assistance and any documentation you could share would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you .

  • Hello,

The SFDP is a JEDEC standard for serial flash devices. You may find resources on the internet to learn more about this standard.

As for the usage, we use it to get the correct flash configurations like R/W commands in different modes. Once retrieved, we then use these configurations to initialize the serial flash devices in the highest mode possible to get the best R/W speed.

    Regards,

    Prashant
