Hi there,
simple question is it possible to use DP38349 in combination with AM243x MCU and Industrial Communiation SDK (especially TI Ethercat SubDevice stack)?
Are there any ready to use drivers for the Industrial Communication SDK?
Is this PHY intended for usage with fieldbusses i.e. EtherCAT?
Thanks & kind regards
Dominik
Hi Dominic,
I am assigning this thread to EtherCAT expert.
Hopefully, you have referred "PHY Selection Guide" of How and Why to Use the DP83826 for EtherCAT® Applications (Rev. C)

Hi Aaron,
maybe I am missing something, but I was asking DP83849 and not about DP83826.
The PHY DP83849 I am asking about is a special dual-port PHY (https://www.ti.com/product/DP83849I) and we were wondering if this is useable for EtherCAT, as there one would need two Ports (EtherCAT In, EtherCAT Out). However, we were unsure if this PHY is EtherCAT compliant and you could provide us the PHY implementation files for Stack?
For the here suggested DP83826 there also deos not seem to be any existing SDK support: https://e2e.ti.com/support/microcontrollers/arm-based-microcontrollers-group/arm-based-microcontrollers/f/arm-based-microcontrollers-forum/1280134/mcu-plus-sdk-am243x-ethercat-support-for-dp83826e
Kind Regards,
Dominik
Hi Dominik,
The first column in Table 2-1. PHY Selection Guide of How and Why to Use the DP83826 for EtherCAT® Applications lists the requirements for PHY compatibility.
If DP83849 complies to all the PHY requirements mentioned, then you can use DP83849 for your EtherCAT development.
For the here suggested DP83826 there also deos not seem to be any existing SDK support

Aaron
