AM2434: FSI communication between two boards connected by Board to Board connector.

Part Number: AM2434

Tool/software:

Hi,

My customer wants to make two AM2434s communicate via FSI with high bandwidth and low latency for multi-axis servo control and have a plan to expand to 3-chip solution for 15-axis by adding option board in the future. For this concept, FSI and Sync signals need to be connected between two boards. I heard the following thread on e2e.

https://e2e.ti.com/support/microcontrollers/arm-based-microcontrollers-group/arm-based-microcontrollers/f/arm-based-microcontrollers-forum/1374617/faq-mcu-plus-sdk-am243x-how-to-test-fsi-in-a-2-device-loopback-on-am243x-lp-or-evm/5251369#5251369

In this case of using cable, LVDS transceivers are needed. How about in the case of using Board to Board connector without cable ? Does it require LVDS transceivers too ?

Thanks and regards,

Hideaki
