Hello,

I'm trying to develop an USB host application using the above micro and in all the documentation refers to the USB host examples, but there aren't any in the TivaWare folder. All the examples are for "devices", not for "host". Can you point me in the right direction?

Hi,

In the latest TivaWare SDK, we no longer support the DK-TM4C123G EVM board. For this board, there are a few host examples. You can download the last TivaWare version 2.1.4.178 from https://www.ti.com/tool/download/SW-TM4C/2.1.4.178 and go to C:\ti\TivaWare_C_Series-2.1.4.178\examples\boards\dk-tm4c123g. You will find the below host examples for TM4C123. The TM4C123 MCU on the DK board is a BGA package which is different from that of TM4C123GE6PM and therefore the pinmuxing will be different. You will need to modify. You will need to remove the code related to displaying messages on the LCD screen.

You can also reference the host examples in the latest TivaWare version but they are for TM4C129.

Thanks for the info Charles. I'm trying to get a demo going with the EK-TM4C123GXL. According to your suggestions, I'm guessing the one that requires the least amount of change is the the host examples for the DK-Tm4c123G. Is that correct?
Also, is there a specific reason why the host examples are not available for this board?

Not really, if you reference the TM4C129 code then you just need to modify the pinmuxing and clock. The DK-TM4C123G examples have some code to display stuffs on the LCD screen instead of through UART COM port. Therefore, there will be some code to remove. But it is up to you. I will suggest you look at some examples under C:\ti\TivaWare_C_Series-2.2.0.295\examples\peripherals. These examples are common between TM4C123 and TM4C129 and #define are used to differentiate between the two devices.
