AM2432: DLR effect RGMII receive packages.

I am currently debugging the DLR function, using the SDK ind_comms_sdk_am2432x_09_02_00_08 and the ICSSG firmware in RGMII mode. I found that plugging and unplugging the network port when there is a DLR manager in the network will cause the network port to be unable to send packets and can only receive packets. This problem does not exist when there is no DLR data frame. The ethernetip_adapter_generic_device_rgmii_demo_am243x-evm_r5fss0-0_freertos_ti-arm-clang routine in the SDK is used. The same problem also occurs when running on EVM development board. I tried the MII mode routine on the development board and it is fine. Please help me see how to solve this problem.

Hi Zekun,

This is a known issue as pointed in the Release Notes for Industrial Communications SDK 9.2: " PINDSW-5122 DLR does not work in RGMII mode".

This issue is being tracked internally to be fixed in the next SDK release, i.e., Industrial Comms SDK v 10.0.

May I know when SDK 10.0 be released? I see there are other SDK10.0 released like AM64, so want to know AM243 schedule.

Also want to know if DLR support Ring Manager in SDK9.2? If not, do we have plan to support it?

No, the EthernetIP Application supports both 100M and 10M speeds in both Full Duplex and Half Duplex starting from Industrial Comms SDK version 9.2.

I wanted to clarify it because we were investigating the issue and we have a workaround for the 100M scenario.

We saw from the "MII_G_RT_RGMII_CFG" register, that RGMII InBAND Enable bit was set for both RGMII0 and RGMII1. You can add an application function to clear the InBAND Enable bits during start-up and it should resolve the issue of DUT not transmitting the packets in RGMII mode.

No, we do not support DLR Supervisor capability right now.
