Tool/software:

I used the FTDI program to change the serial number of a Texas Instruments device, but I made a mistake. As a result, I had to install an XML file to reconnect to the device. However, now I cannot see any output from the serial port. When I open Device Manager in Windows, I can only see the device under Debug Probes, and it does not appear under COM ports. This means I can print the output on the console but not on the serial port in the terminal on Code Composer Studio. Could someone please help me fix this issue?

Are you using the on-board XDS100 of a TI board like TMDS570LS31HDK?

Did you change just the serial number or the vendor/device id?

I see no reason to change the serial number on the XDS110. I suspect you bricked it, and will need to replace it. Maybe someone from TI can tell you how to force a firmware update, but I don't know that that will help either.
