LP-AM243: How to select and switch R5F projects

Part Number: LP-AM243

Tool/software:

Hello TI team,
I am considering a multi-core project using the LP-2434ALX.

environment:
  CCS12.7.0
  AM243x MCU+SDK 09.02.01.05
  LP-AM2434

My request is to be able to freely select R5F projects in system projects.
1. I want to separate the system project folder from the project folders for each CORE.
2. I want to select each CORE project in the system project.
3. I want to version-control each R5F project.
4. Company A wants to build and link R5F00 VerA.
5. Company B wants to build and link R5F00 VerC.

Project Outline

Project Folder Structure

Q1.Is it possible to select an R5F project in a different folder in the system project?

Q2.I am also considering changing the CORE assignment.
In the above diagram, CompanyA and CompanyB are configured with FreeRTOSx2, NoRTOSx2.
CompanyC is configured with FreeRTOSx1, NoRTOSx3.
b Is it possible to assign the r511_verA project to the R5F10 core?

Yoshiki Koide

  • Hello Yoshiki,

    Thanks for your query.

I am not sure if I fully understand the above use case.

You might want to use system project for development but after importing the project for all R5F cores using system project, you want to replace one version of R5F with another version or different R5F example. Please correct me if I am wrong here.

For this use case you need to replace the modify the system.xml file in system project.

For example if I just want to use the R5F0-0 core and R5F0-1 core having two completely different projects and want to use as system project, I will need to modify the system.xml file as shown below.

You will also need to update the makefile_ccs_bootimage_gen file as shown below.

    Hope the above information helps.

Note: The above example is from the AM64x MCU+SDK, but same steps can be followed for AM243x MCU+SDK also.

    Regards,

    Tushar
