MSPM0G3507: lp-MSPM0G3507

Part Number: MSPM0G3507

Tool/software:

Hello everyone,

I'm experiencing an issue with the MCU lp-MSPM0G03507 and I hope someone here can help me out. The problem is with the ADC channels, specifically the following:

  • A0_1, which corresponds to PA26
  • A1_4, which corresponds to PB17
  • A1_7, which corresponds to PA21

I have connected a potentiometer to each of these channels, and I'm encountering the following issues:

  • A0_1 (PA26): When the potentiometer value drops close to zero, the MCU shuts down completely, as if I had unplugged it.
  • A1_4 (PB17): The channel behaves as if nothing is connected to it.
  • A1_7 (PA21): As soon as I connect the potentiometer, the MCU shuts down immediately.

Has anyone experienced similar issues with these ADC channels?

Best regards,

Ali

  • Hi Ali,

Can you check some of your jumpers based on the LP users guide to make sure that you don't have any unintended connections between device pins?

For PA26, there is a jumper at the bottom left side of the launchpad (formerly J18 as mentioned in the LP user's guide, but now updated to J9 on the Rev.A launchpad). Can you ensure that it is removed? The 6 pins for J11 and J9 should not have any jumpers on them for PA26 to work as an ADC input.

For PB17, there are no additional jumpers, so I am unsure what the issue here is. Do you only have the potentiometer output connected to the pin? What software are you using to check this, just one of our premade examples?

For PA21, this pin is not populated on the boosterpack header, and PA21 on the MCU itself is connected to capacitors to be used for the voltage reference module. Have you disconnected the capacitors from this pin, and soldered on the 0-ohm resistor to connect the PCB pin to the device pin? Or more generally, how have you changed the hardware to connect your potentiometer to PA21?

  • I assume the wiper goes to the pin. Where do the other arms of the pots go?
