MSPM0G1505: MSPM0G1505

Part Number: MSPM0G1505
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: MSPM0G3507

Tool/software:

Hi,

We are looking to use the 2 x GPAMP in MSPM0G1505 to measure differential voltage from an ASIC. The ASIC has VSENSE+, VSENSE- signals which provides the actual voltage at the Die on the Core and GND rails.

The proposal is to use the 12 bit A/D of MSPM0G1505 with the Two OPA's in Difference Amplifier Configuration to measure the voltage at the Die (Fig 12-8 in Slau846a.pdf).

The MSPM0G1505 with the GPAMP will be replacing ADS1015IDGST, Is it possible to comment on the suitability of this configuration for our use case. Also - is there a sample project available which we could use to test the implementation?

thanks

  • Hi Ranjeet,

I'd recommend taking a look at sections 7.18 and 8.17 of the device datasheet to view the OPA's specifications. To get early information about the possibility of using our OPAs for your application.

Generally speaking I can confirm that it is possible to configure the two OPAs together in a chain in difference amplifier configuration and as you mention we do show this in the device's technical reference manual.

After you've taken a look at our technical specs in the datasheet linked above, I would recommend that you utilize our MSPM0G3507 Launchpad, which includes the same OPAs, to prototype your design and get firsthand data for the device behavior.

As for example code, we do have some general OPA examples in our SDK under the file path [SDK Install Path]\mspm0_sdk_2_01_00_03\examples\nortos\LP_MSPM0G3507\driverlib. The specific example in [SDK Install path]\mspm0_sdk_2_01_00_03\examples\nortos\LP_MSPM0G3507\driverlib\opa_signal_chain_to_adc utilizes two ADCs but not under the exact configuration you mention. Changing the configuration to difference amplifier should only require a few quick changes to the project's .syscfg file.
