TMDSHSECDOCK: How do I connect my XDS110 Debug Probe to my TMDSHSECDOCK ?

Part Number: TMDSHSECDOCK
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMDSCNCD28388D, C2000WARE, , TMDSADAP180TO100

Tool/software:

I have docked TMDSCNCD28388D Dev Board on the based board. I would like to know the connections for JTAG.

  • Hi,

Schematics for the board can be found at C2000WARE/board/controlCARD/

Step-by-step instructions for how to run a simple example: https://dev.ti.com/tirex/explore/node?node=A__AVSjOwDYHkfv9LUHQuulzA__C2000-ACADEMY__3H1LnqB__LATEST

JTAG Debug Guide (useful if you cannot connect to controlCARD): https://www.ti.com/lit/pdf/spracf0

Please let me know if you have any further questions.

    Thanks,

    Ben Collier

  • Hello Benjamin, thank you for your response.

I actually need the exact JTAG and Aux pins connections for this XDS110 Debug probe to the Baseboard (TMDSHSECDOCK) (I have mounted TMDSCNCD28388D on this board)

Also, I have already programmed the board and tried examples using the USB but now I want to use the XDS110 Debug Probe. One thing is that the J2 (JTAG) header on TMDSHSECDOCK has male pins and on the wire coming from XDS110 Debug Probe the female connector has 6th pin closed! So due to this I am using jumper wires to connect both the headers except the 6th pin.

I saw datasheets and lot of que/ans on forum but its just not working.

I have attached the photo of my connections setup.

I am also getting this error:

    -----[Print the reset-command software log-file]-----------------------------

This utility has selected a 100/110/510 class product.
This utility will load the adapter 'jioxds110.dll'.
The library build date was 'Apr 19 2024'.
The library build time was '14:04:01'.
The library package version is '12.7.0.00130'.
The library component version is '35.35.0.0'.
The controller does not use a programmable FPGA.
The controller has a version number of '5' (0x00000005).
The controller has an insertion length of '0' (0x00000000).
This utility will attempt to reset the controller.
This utility has successfully reset the controller.

    -----[Print the reset-command hardware log-file]-----------------------------

The scan-path will be reset by toggling the JTAG TRST signal.
The controller is the XDS110 with USB interface.
The link from controller to target is direct (without cable).
The software is configured for XDS110 features.
The controller cannot monitor the value on the EMU[0] pin.
The controller cannot monitor the value on the EMU[1] pin.
The controller cannot control the timing on output pins.
The controller cannot control the timing on input pins.
The scan-path link-delay has been set to exactly '0' (0x0000).

-----[An error has occurred and this utility has aborted]--------------------

This error is generated by TI's USCIF driver or utilities.

    The value is '-233' (0xffffff17).
    The title is 'SC_ERR_PATH_BROKEN'.

    The explanation is:
The JTAG IR and DR scan-paths cannot circulate bits, they may be broken.
An attempt to scan the JTAG scan-path has failed.
The target's JTAG scan-path appears to be broken
    with a stuck-at-ones or stuck-at-zero fault.

Any help would be really appreciated.

  • Hi,

The schematic for the docking station can be found at C2000WARE/boards/controlCARDs/TMDSADAP180TO100

Also, please see the F2838X controlCARD users guide. There will be a switch which determines whether the JTAG connection comes from the USB or the docking station.

    Best Regards,

    Ben Collier
