AM2431: OSPI doesnot work well when i the 0x60000000 in MPU

Part Number: AM2431

Tool/software:

i am using sdk8.3.0(i know it's a very old version, but i must use it)

On my custom board i use USB and OSPI Flash.

To use USB i added the MPU as blow

{
.baseAddr = 0x60000000u,
.size = MpuP_RegionSize_256M,
.attrs = {
.isEnable = 1,
.isCacheable = 1,
.isBufferable = 1,
.isSharable = 0,
.isExecuteNever = 0,
.tex = 1,
.accessPerm = MpuP_AP_ALL_R,
.subregionDisableMask = 0x0u
},

After added this setting, i canot read/write through ospi flash.

i know the ospi flash is also using the address 0x60000000

i'd like to ask Why the ospi flash is not work well when i set the MPU with address 0x60000000?

  • Hello,

    Thank you very much for your patience.

    To use USB i added the MPU as blow

    {
    .baseAddr = 0x60000000u,
    .size = MpuP_RegionSize_256M,
    .attrs = {
    .isEnable = 1,
    .isCacheable = 1,
    .isBufferable = 1,
    .isSharable = 0,
    .isExecuteNever = 0,
    .tex = 1,
    .accessPerm = MpuP_AP_ALL_R,
    .subregionDisableMask = 0x0u
    },

    Can you explain how you are going to use USB by the above addition? Why is the size configured to 256 mb?

    What all operations do you wish to do starting from 0x60000000?

    It is advisable to not touch 0x60000000 if you want to use OSPI too at the same time. Because the mentioned location is used to directly map the contents of the QSPI/OSPI nor flash to 0x60000000. This helps with DAC operations mostly DAC reads which are faster compared to indirect reads.
