Hi there,
when configuring objects in EtherCAT ESI file and in code, about Name element, the names in esi file can be different from those in code. What is the side effect if any?
Best,
Jinlong

Hi Jinlong,
I'll get back to you by tomorrow.

Hello Jinlong,
When the ESI file is copied to EtherCAT Master, for example TwinCAT, it loads the EtherCAT device configurations from the ESI file and objects are named as per the name elements in the ESI file. If the object names are configured differently, then it should not create any problems. The only inconvenience is that it will be difficult for you to track the configurations on both ends. When no ESI file is copied to EtherCAT master then the EtherCAT device configurations are read from the device itself.
kind Regards,
