MSPM0L1306: PA18 Problem Handling

Part Number: MSPM0L1306
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SYSCONFIG

Tool/software:

In the design of the MSPM0L1306, the PA18 pin is intended to be pulled up or left floating. There is no specific recommendation for how to configure this pin.

This footpad seems to affect the chip's power-on startup. I don't know how to handle it. Please provide a clear explanation. Thank you.

  • Hi Tonyx,

On the MSPM0L1306, PA18 is the BSL (boot strap loader) pin is enabled by default and is invoked when PA18 is held low during a POR or Reset.  So to prevent the device from entering BSL mode, pull PA18 high with a resistor to VDD.

If you want to use BSL but with a different pin, this can be configured using Sysconfig as shown here:

If you don't use BSL, you can disable this in the NONMAIN memory configuration using the Sysconfig tool.
