MSPM0G1506: Debugging options for Code Composer Studio Theia(version:1.5.0.11)

Part Number: MSPM0G1506

Tool/software:

Hello,

A client set the Erase method in the Debug option in a previously created project.
(example:Erase MAIN and NONMAIN memory)

The client intends to import and use this project.
After importing, the client checks the Erase method in the Debug option,
Erase method is set back to Erase MAIN memory only.

The project information has not been inherited.
What should the client do?

Best regards,
DDdoor

  • Hello DDdoor,

I have double checked on my end and the issue you mentioned occurs. In fact, if customer saves this project in the default ccs theia workspace when they use the old theia version and then open it in new version ccs theia, the debug option won't be modified. If I saved the project (old version theia) in other folders and open it in new version theia, the debug option will be modified. I will discuss with my software team colleague about this issue and reply to you after I get their response. Before this, you can let customer check and modify the debug option manually before use it in new version ccs theia and I think it won't affect their usage.

    Best Regards,

  • Hello DDdoor,

The debug mode is decided by IAR itself, and the project itself don't have an understanding of its settings. So when change to another version IAR, the setting is decided by the new version IAR so we should check the settings and configure it according to our need.

But I have discussed with my software team colleague and he will bring it to the team toronto.

  • Hello Janz Bai,

    Thank you for your support.

When the client imports, the launch.json file in the .theia folder does not seem to be reflected properly.
Does the client need to manually rewrite this file to take over the settings?

    Best regards,
    DDdoor

  • Hello DDdoor,

What is the meaning of "the launch.json file in the .theia folder does not seem to be reflected properly". Can you describe it in details, so I can discuss with our software team colleague easily.

    Best Regards,

    Janz Bai

  • Hello Janz Bai,

It means that the Erase method in the Debug option, etc. is described in the .json file.
The customer suspects that this is the reason why the settings are not being passed to this file at the time of import.

    Best regards,
    DDdoor

Got it. Our software team is responsible for the relevant issues about the IDE and I have discussed with them. They will bring this issue to the team toronto.

  • Hello Janz Bai,

    Thank you for your support.

Did your software team bring this issue to the team tronto?

The client would like to know when the revised version will be released and whether a patch program will be available.

    Best regards,
    DDdoor

  • Hello DDdoor,
