Hello,

I have a question regarding MATHACL. I am using it to perform a multiplication operation. According to the RTM, it states that I have to write to MATHACL->OP1 first and then to MATHACL->OP2. However, when I do so, the result keeps changing. When I do it the other way around, I get the expected result.

So my question is, why am I getting this behavior?

Hi,

I checked the DL_MathACL_configOperation() in driver library source code. And it seems it configures the OP2 first.

Thank you for your response. However, I am curious about the reason behind writing to the OP2 register first, as the reference manual states otherwise.

Hi Ali,

A quick update here. After checked with an experience colleague on MATHACL module. It is most likely a mistake on the TRM. We will try to work with documentation group and see how we can fix it later.

There are two more things

The values in the data sheet for the mspm0g3507 microcontroller for TSTRIM and TSc are for the reference voltage VDD = 3.3 V

And in the reference manual the values in the equations are for a reference voltage of 1.4 V

So my question is, can these equations also be used for a reference voltage of 3.3V?

The other thing is that older lanchpads seam to be not calibrated. I am reading for TEMP_SENSE0.DATA = 750, and therefore TSAMPLE is not accurate because VTRIM is not accurate. And in the data sheet on bage 74 it stated that X stands for Experiment silicon. What does that mean exactly?

And from a newer launchpad I am reading for the TEMP_SENSE0.DATA = 797 (ADC result code based on 12-bit mode and a 3.3-V reference)

So, Please I want a clarification according to these two things.

Hi,

Please use 3.3V as the ADC reference voltage for temperature sensor.

The early sample with an ‘X’ mark on the MCU may have a wrong trim value for the temperature sensor. The correct trim value should be around 0x31E which is 798.
