Hi,

I've seen that in the Technical Reference Manual of Sitara AM263x microcontroller (spruj17g), it is mentioned that software instrumentation trace is possible using ARM Coresight STM. Furthermore, I have found in Code Composer Studio v.12.8, that the Software Messaging tool is working properly. I was wondering then if there is any documentation or example code how to use this debugging feature on the microcontroller?

The STM on AM263x is the standard ARM STM. STM is like a 0-cost FIFO you can write data into. That data is timestamped and pushed into the debug trace network. The STM has a number of stimulus channels (address ports to different FIFOs) and messages of different sizes stream out. A user can assign a CPU to different stimulus regions. Often its used as kind of a 'real time' printf but without using a console or uart. You will need to instrument your code to use the STM block.
