Hi Team,

My customer has a question regarding the EPHY Reset section in the Schematic Review Checklist. 

Can you tell me why they need to implement three input AND gate logic?

    Thank you for the query.

    The 3 input gate recommendation is provided to be able to match with the SK-AM64 schematics.

    The ANDing logic is implemented with 3 input but one of the reset input is DNI.

    We also have recommendation where customer could optimize the ANDing logic to 2 inputs to follow the EVM.

    You could use a 2 input ANDing logic and route the PORz_OUT and the RESETSTATz to one of the pin that could be selected through a 0R  The other input is the SOC IO.

    Many of the EPHYs have strap configuration and depending on the strap latching requirement the cold reset output which toggles only during power cycle or warm reset output that toggles during cold reset or warm reset (push button or software) can be used.

    The reset logic could be further optimized (ANDing logic removed) by using the reset status output or a SOC IO to reset the EPHY.
