RM48 USB Kit schematics

Hi folks,

we're looking into evaluating the TI Hercules Platform and are comparing the technical details of the USB kits. However, we noticed while the RM48 USB Kit schematics from the Wiki page show RM48 in the file name and on the schematic pages, the MCU pins on page 4 list the FlexRay pins FRAYRX1/2, FRAYTX1/2 and FRAYEN1/2. This has us confused, because the RM4 platform isn't supposed to have a FlexRay communication peripheral. We would also like to know the test points/external pins the RM48 USB stick provides, but we are unsure if the listed development pins on page 8 apply.

Can you please check if this is the right schematic?

Thank you very much.

  • Hi,

since the boards of the TMS570/RM48 USB Development Kits are the same, the schematics show the FlexRay pins of the TMS570LS3x (center of page 4 within U1A part). There is no FlexRay on RM48 available. But you are right the schematics are a little bit irritating, it should be mentioned that these pins are only available on the TMS570 USB DK (but not connected anyways).

The test points are the ones mentioned on page 8 "Development Pins".

I am going to forward this information in order to correct/adapt the schematics accordingly. Thank you very much for this hint.

  • I was reading the RM48 Dev Kit User Guide, http://www.ti.com/lit/ug/spnu508/spnu508.pdf

The schematics  in the end have the TMS570L name in the microcontroller.

Searching a litle I founded what you said here, but took me some time to found it.

The schematics and processor pinout are the same ? Can I use that schematics ?

    thanks for your attention,
