TMS570LS1224: SPI Implementation guides.

I am using the ,Hercules Launch Pad Development Kit

When I generated code using the HAL Co Gen and I enable 2 SPI ( SPI1 and SPI4). 

Easy to locate SPI4 pins in the J11 connector, so I configured it. 

When I run the code after all the connection made, the code struck at the place where "while((spi->FLG & 0x00000100U) != 0x00000100U)"

Pls help me if there any configuration to be noted while configuring , and I prefre the pooling mode instead of the interrupt mode as the begining. 

pls suggest.
