MSPM0L1227: Thermal Pad and Recommended Capacitor Values

Hi,

We’ve received some inquiries from the customer. Could you answer their questions below ?

 

    -  How should they treat the EXPOSED THERMAL PAD ?

       Of course, they will make soldering it.

       Is it OK to open it ? or should be connected to GND ?

 

     -  There are Recommended Capacitor values in the table of 7.3 Recommended Operating Conditions in the data sheet, like below.

       

        The only typical values of CVDD, CVBAT and CVCORE are described in the table, but they’re concerned about an actual capacity.

        For example, even though 10uF capacitor  is connected, the actual capacity must not be lower than 2.2uF ?

        Is there Min and Max number ? or recommended actual capacity value ?

    Hi Hideaki,

    We recommend connecting the thermal pad to Vss.

    As for the nominal capacitor values shown, these are our recommended values. So please use the values shown in that table in your design. If we've only listed a nominal value, then we recommend using only this value, not some range.
