AM2432: Serdes electric specification

Part Number: AM2432

Tool/software:

Customer ask Serdes/PCIe specification and switching characteristic like below from other vendor's datasheet

  • Hello Tony,

    Thank you for the query.

The recommendation is to refer to the PCIe or USB3 standards.

I checked with the device expert and  i received the below query:

We should ask the customer why they need the information being requested so we better understand how to address their questions or concerns.

  • Hello Sreenivasa,

This question was asked by our end customer. want to check if the voltage level matches between RC and EP. Our end customer PCIE act as RC, output clock is LDVS with AC coupling,  and RX/TX is the CML with AC coupling.

    Thanks.

  • Hello Ren,

    Thank you.

Let me check with the expert and update.

    Regards,

    Sreenivasa

  • Hello Ren,

Below are some initial inputs i received. I am checking for any additional inputs

Anyone designing a product with PCIe or USB needs to be a member of the respective organization that created and maintains these specifications.  Each of these peripherals are very complex and there are many system level requirements that need to understood and implemented for proper operation.  Anyone with experience designing products with these peripherals should already know this.

The PCIe and USB requirements go far beyond the SerDes specifications. The SerDes electrical specification information primarily benefits the SerDes analog circuit designer.  The customer needs to be mostly be concerned with the signal path requirements and the system level testing and certification requirements.

There are no plans to include links to non-TI web sites in our datasheet.  It is hard enough to keep our own links from getting stale

    Regards,

    Sreenivasa

  • Hi,
