AM263P4: Connecting two devices to OSPI interface

Hi,

My customer wants to connect two memory devices on OSPI interface, like AM263Px Control Card (TMDSCNCD263P).
Below is Control Card connection. NOR and NAND are connected.

The customer wants to connect two NORs (IS25LX256).
But Sysconfig generates an error saying "Same device cannot be selected". Does it mean same two NORs cannot be connected?

And Sysconfig detects some signals (data) are conflicted and generates an error "Maximum of 1 instance allowed."

Questions:
Q1) Is it OK to connect two memory devices on OSPI interface using CS0/CS1 as same as TMDSCNCD263P?
(I thought connecting two devices are not supported on other devices, such as AM243x, AM64x.)
Q2) If the answer to Q1) is yes, could you tell me how to configure sysconfig?

Hi Koichiro,

Yes you can connect, two devices on OSPI interface. We have done the same in AM263Px CC.

This is done via CS line, connect one device on each Chip select line.

We have two CS line.

FOr fixing this issue,

You can change the name of the flash instance like custom flash

This is expected as we have only one OSPI instance so if you add two OSPI instance it will say that, do not try to add it twice,

CHip select mechanism needs to be handled in example.

Thanks for your reply.
I understood the customer can connect two devices on OSPI, but they can use only one of two devices in the system.
I mean they need to chose which devices they will use at system start-up.
They cannot use two devices dynamically switching CS0 and CS1 at runtime, correct?

They can use it in runtime also, if they can do a proper handling at the application level.
