AM2634: Not able to download code using TMDSEMU110-U (XDS110 debugger probe) into AM2634

Hi Team,

We are trying to download the code into AM2634 Controller. I have following doubts.

Can we use this XDS110 probe for AM2634?
We have used AM2634 IC in our circuit and connecting below JTAG pins to donwload the code to debug port of XDS110

TMS, TCK,TDI,TDO

3.Since we are using external XDS110 probe to donwload the code, then we are not using USB Mini connections and TM4C1294NCPDTT3R IC from page 19 of "PROC110A_SCH.pdf"

4.We are using ISO7220CDR to isolate signals of XDS110

Aprreciate the urgent support on this!

Hey Ajit,

Sorry for the delayed response here.

1) Yes, all of the AM263x HW platforms utilize an onboard XDS110 module (AM263x LaunchPad and ControlCard). Can you confirm you are using the AM263x Control Card?

2) Your JTAG implementation/connections should match what is done in PROC11A_SCH. I believe NTRST

3) Understood, can you provide a picture of the physical hardware connections? It may be worth updating your .ccxml file to try a slow TCLK speed (1.0 MHz or similar) to see if that makes any difference. (See https://youtu.be/0k8oe1-2amY?si=1Swk1a6jqD4Jt4FB for example)

4) This device seems fine for isolating the XDS110 JTAG signals (Default TCLK of 5.5MHz).

5) The JTAG (1149.1) mode that is selected in your screenshot is the correct option here.

No problem!

We have made customized PCB of AM2634 and using XDS110 debugger probe as shown in picture below. Please let what all circuit we must have our PCB to download the code if we are using external XDS110 debugger.

I am not getting any information on circuit that is present inside this probe.

Ajit,

The standalone XDS110 debug probe is sold as a black box debugger. The circuit and design files are not publicly available.

To use the external debugger with the AM2634, you will need to ensure you have the following signals pinned out to an external header in order to interface with the XDS110:

TI suggests using the 14-pin TI JTAG connector for interfacing with the header included with the XDS110 debugger probe.

For more information on supported headers, see the Emulation and Trace Headers Technical Reference Manual.

I will use 14-pin TI JTAG connector and connect above mentioned pins to AM2634.

Can you please verify voltage levels that suppose to be given to AM2634? I am getting "Target voltage not found" error while downloading code using JTAG pins.

Ajit,

All of the JTAG signals are 3.3V. See page 32 in the AM2634 Datasheet.

Note that a voltage reference to 3.3V is required on pin 5 of the 14-pin TI JTAG connector. Pins 4, 10, and 12 are to be connected to GND.
