Tool/software:
Hi,
do we have support for Zephyr RTOS for the AM243x?
If not, do we have it on the roadmap and when would it be ready for customers to use?
Thank you,
Marinus

Hello Marinus
No we do not officially support Zephyr on AM24/AM64 yet.
We have a few important customer requests asking for this on AM24. We will be assessing this in 1Q25 and provide guidance on if and when.
Please share the details on your specific customer , use-case, key requirements, timelines for mass production and opportunity size, offline

Mukul:
my 2 cents on the subject:
Zephyr is a competitor OS to the AWS owned FreeRTOS.
Meanwhile, as of Linux build 6.12 (and beyond), we know that Linus Torvalds is marketing Linux as an embedded RTOS.
I know Amazon is a big customer of TI; AWS's FreeRTOS is not going anywhere.
Question arises: if TI wants to support another RTOS,
should R5 cores be supported by Linux build 6.12+ moreso than supporting Zephyr RTOS?
The adding an RTOS issue is large! - across multiple AM24x AM26x, AM62x and Am64x products .
Big decisions.

Hi Mukul and Jim,
You mentioned, that you are assessing the support of Zephyr for the AM243x in 1Q25, hence I wanted to check if there are some news yet.
Thank you and kind regards,
Marinus

Please ask (+) Michael Firth's Profile - Michael Firth - TI E2E support forums directly as this is customer driven input into marketing - you know where I stand on this.
thanks
