MSPM0G3506-Q1: MSPM0G3506-Q1

Part Number: MSPM0G3506-Q1

Tool/software:

Hi!

The operating temperature range is -40-125 ℃ and the storage temperature is -40-150 ℃ of MCU MSPM0G3506-Q1 , why is Tj only -40-130 ℃?

Thanks!

  • Hi Yansong,

The ambient temperature refers to the temperature of the surrounding environment (typically air) when the device is powered. The junction temperature refers to the temperature of the silicon die within the device's package when the device is powered. It is normal that Tj is higher than Ta, but it could not reach storage temperature.

  • Hi Peng fei,

    Thank you for your reply!

What I think is that the Tj of this chip is too low. After all, the Tj is only 130 ℃. This limits our application to pumps and cooling fans. Why can't the junction temperature of this MCU be 150 ℃ when designing? When the ambient temperature is 115 ℃, the junction temperature exceeds 130 ℃, which cannot be used on fans and water pumps at all.

  • Hi Yansong,

Understood. The Tj with 130℃ will limit your application when ambient temperature reach 125℃.

And I think you have talked about this topic with our manager offline.

    Best Regards,
