Tool/software:

We are looking at the AM263p trace and associated trace debuggers. I do not see any Trace debugger from TI capable for the AM263 family, is this correct?

Also, i see there is 32kB internal Arm trace buffer, does this work over jtag with the trace debugger? if so which one?

I also see the TMDSEMU560V2STM-U can use a TI 14 pin trace debugger, what would this pinout look like, i cannot find any references. I only see the 60 pin in references.

TI suggests using one of the Lauterbach Development Tools that supports AM263P4. Visit this link to view the supported tool configurations:

Yes, this will work across all of the Lauterbach tool options. Note that they may charge for a 'Trace Credential,' and it will come with the external trace hardware for offchip trace debug. If you get a tool that can do 16-bit external trace, the internal trace support is included.

Hello, Thanks for the feedback. What are the EMU pins used for in the 14 pin, can we get any trace support with the 14 pin header? what is the limitation of using 4 pins trace on the 20 pin connector vs the full 16 pin in the 60 pin trace connector?

Ben,

There are no dedicated EMU pins on AM263P4, so any connection for EMU[x] can be left floating.

I would suggest using either the MIPI 20-pin or MIPI 60-pin connector. The limitation is just less data bits on the smaller connector. We do testing with the 60-pin connector since it has wider compatibility with the Lauterbach tools.

There is no advantage in terms of the TI 14-pin vs standard ARM 10-pin, it is more dependent on what type of connector your debug probe can interface with.
