MSPM0G3106-Q1: Questions about ODIO pins

Part Number: MSPM0G3106-Q1

Tool/software:

Hello team,

My customer is using the 32-pin package of the M0G3106-Q1 device. Below are some questions where we need some clarity.

Q1 - In the pin 2 of the 32 pin variant of the uC, we find that this pin is behaving exclusively as an open drain pin, and we have to always attach an external pull-up resistor to make it work (the IO structure of this pin is 5V tolerant open drain IO). We intend to use it as a gpio pin (PA1). Is there a way where-in this is possible without using an external pull-up resistor?

Q2 - Also can we use the UART or timer functionalities of the pin, given that it is open-drain?

Regards,

Shashank
