Hello,

I teach a course using the EK-TM4C1294XL and BOOSTXL-EDUMKII products and the TI-RTOS Real time OS for labs.

One of my students installed the 12.8.1 version of CCS and noticed that the XGCONF tool was deprecated.

Some of my colleagues have had their development boards end-of-lifed recently.

Can you confirm the where in the life-cycle the two boards are?

Is support for the TI-RTOS being phased out in the new CCS release?

If so, what RTOS is being recommended for the longest support time.

Hi Jennifer,

I will report the XGCONF issue to the CCS team as I expect it to still be supported in CCS12.8. As for the development boards, the EK-TM4C1294XL will continue to be in production and will be supported for a very long time

Hi,

Reading the CCS 12.8 release note there is no mention of XGCONF support being removed. https://software-dl.ti.com/ccs/esd/CCSv12/CCS_12_8_1/exports/CCS_12.8.1_ReleaseNotes.htm

Can you show a screenshot what you are seeing?

When I right-click on a .cfg file, I could see XGCONF. This is a based on CCS12.6 but I would expect the same on CCS12.8.

I am using 12.7.1 and there are no problems. My student was using 12.8.1, it was definitely broken. It is my impression that 12.8.1 was a major release and significantly different from 12.7.1 and earlier releases. It maybe until after the holiday before I can reproduce issue on my own machine. Should I keep this ticket open or close it and create a new one when more information is available.
