MSPM0G3507: Timing for BSL pins invoked by NRST and BSL_invoke

Part Number: MSPM0G3507

Tool/software:

Hi champs,

I am asking this for our customer.

About NRST and BSL_invoke timing from below in the datatsheet, we are confused.

https://www.ti.com/lit/gpn/mspm0g3507

t(START) is ~308 us (TYP) and NRST is 80 us (TYP).

Questions:

1. Why don't we specify MAX because TYP is confusing for the user to follow?

2. The user can choose t(START) = 500 us and NRST = 100 us based on the TYP. Do you think it makes sense?

  • Hi Wayne,

    1. For startup, we only have the typical one. For NRST, there is no limitation for the maximum value.

    2. It is okay for NRST to have 100us.

For t(START), any specific requirements for its time? It can not be select.

  • Hi Sal,

    I am confused.

What do you mean by "For t(START), any specific requirements for its time? It can not be select."?

Isn't BSL_invoke an input pin from the host? and he host should assert BSL_invoke to start BSL?

This is why the user is asking to know how long the host should assert BSL_invoke....

Or is our understanding not correct?

  • Hi Wayne,

Yes you are correct. See below picture for the BSL invoke by the GPIO.

Set the BSL_incovoke pin time as 500us is good.

We recommend trigger POR to entry BSL, but the BOR should also work.
