AM2434: Question on impedance matching for PRU GPIO

Part Number: AM2434

Tool/software:

What is the typical output impedance of one of the PRU GPIOs?

Specifically the two pins used for the EGPO shift-out functionality.

I want to minimize poor signal quality at high switching speeds, and matching trace impedances / minimizing parasitics is a good place to start.

  • Hello Keito Katafuchi

    Thank you for the query.

The PRU IO buffer type is LVCMOS and the nominal impedance is 60R.

  • Hello Keito Katafuchi,

Please refer additional inputs i received from the expert.

The IOs associated with the LVCMOS buffer type have a typical source impedance of 60 ohms, and the IOs associated with the SDIO buffer types have a typical source impedance of 40 ohms.  We do not define the source impedance range. The customer should use the IBIS models in a simulation if they need a better understanding the buffer drive capabilities.
