Tool/software:
We are currently seeking guidance and training on the TI AM243x device, specifically focusing on its communication capabilities with PLC systems using Studio5000 software over the EthernetIP protocol.
Our objectives include the following:
Understanding the Communication Protocol: We would like detailed insights into how to effectively implement EthernetIP communication between the TI AM243x daisy-chained devices and PLCs.
Integration with Studio5000: Knowledge on best practices for setting up and configuring Studio5000 to communicate with the TI AM243x device.
Example Implementations or Tutorials: We are keen on any example projects, tutorials, or documentation that can provide a practical understanding of these integrations.
Support Resources: Any recommendations for resources, training programs, or community support channels that could expedite our learning process would be invaluable.
We realize that this is a complex area, and it’s crucial for us to get through this learning phase as quickly as possible. Your expertise and insights will be greatly appreciated to help us navigate this process successfully.
Hi Matej,
sorry for the delayed response.
1) Regarding understanding the protocol itself in depth, you would need to have access to ODVA Specification on EtherNet/IP protocol. You can find more information in ODVA website on how you can purchase the specification.
2) Our device-profile examples running on AM243x EVMs are just like any other Ethernet/IP-Adapter device from PLC point-of-view, that means you can find tutorial online about setting up your project in Studio 5000 to start communicating with an EtherNet/IP Adapter (loading EDS file, monitoring the Tags, etc.)
3) We provide two examples, a)Generic Device, b) Discrete I/O Device. These examples come also with EDS files which can be used for your PLC side. In our documentation you can find a tutorial on how to get started with PLC + our EtherNet/IP Adapter example:

4) I think you can find many good resources in ODVA official website, for example the upcoming Quick start Event ( EtherNet/IP Quick Start for Vendors ).
Best regards
Pourya
