I am using MSP432E401Y microcontroller , I want to implement automotive ethernet in this . Does msp support this using correct PHY for single pair ethernet(automotive ethernet specific). If yes, is there any SDK to implement and IP Stack for automotive ethernet ?..

Hi,

What do you mean by automotive ethernet. All I can say is that the MSP432E Ethernet module is compliant with IEEE 802.3 specification. Refer to below or the TRM for details. The MSP432E SDK has Ethernet examples that are based on the lwIP stack. You can find at C:\ti\simplelink_msp432e4_sdk_4_20_00_12\examples\nortos\MSP_EXP432E401Y\lwip. There are additional examples at C:\ti\simplelink_msp432e4_sdk_4_20_00_12\examples\rtos\MSP_EXP432E401Y\ns and these are examples based on TI-RTOS with NDK TCP/IP stack.

So my doubt was , does msp support support deterministic protocols like time sensitive networks(like tsn) which are tailored for automotive applications?

Reading about tsn, it seems this is an extension for 802.1Q for which this Ethernet controller does not support. However, the Ethernet controller on this MCU supports 1588-2002 Precision Time Protocol (PTP) and 1588-2008 Advanced Timestamp spec.

Yes , thank you and one more question, can msp made to support single pair ethernet like 100 base t1 with correct PHY

Hi,

The answer is No. The ethernet controller supports only 10BASE-T/100BASE-TX IEEE-802.3, not 100BASE-T1. They are different.
