AM2431: How to avoid errata i2196 on AM243x

Part Number: AM2431

Tool/software:

Dear person in charge.

We are developing products using AM2431.
We have questions about errata i2196 on AM243x. (i2196-IA: Potential deadlock scenarios in IA.)

・We are using CPSW3G. Upon checking the source code, it appears that CPSW3G refers to the DMASS0_INTAGGR_MCAST registers. Does CPSW3G get affected by this errata?

We have checked the workaround, but we do not understand the specific method to avoid the issue. Could you provide detailed steps for avoidance and the necessary register settings? If there is any sample code available, please provide it.

Best Regards

Hayato Waki

  • Hello Hayoto Waki,

In the MCU+SDK there is no support for the Multicast event .

So, there is no possibility of an IA deadlock.

But, I need to confirm other experts on this as well. You may get a delayed reply on this

    Regards,

    Anil.

  • Hello Hayoto Waki,

Users don't need to worry about the IA (i2196-IA: Potential deadlock scenarios in IA.) in the MCU+SDK.

The current DMA implementation for the CPSW or other peripherals this IA deadlock issue is not applicable.

Users don't need to add any workaround  for this issue in the MCU+SDK and the same DMA MCU+SDK implementation can work normally without any issues.

    Regards,

    Anil.
