I am trying to measure speed of a motor from two quadrature signals using eQEP module using Unit Timeout measuremnt approach and I have following questions.
1. How do we decide appropriate value of QUPRD? In my case, the maximum frequency of quadrature input signals is 32.207KHz and minimum is 0 Hz.
2. What is the role of External clock rate that is mentioned in Halcogen which I believe is QDECCTL:XCR?

As we discussed in our previous thread, unit time out method will not be helpful at low frequencies.
Here you want to measure very low frequencies which are starting at 0hz so you cannot use this method. Instead of you should need to go for unit position method.

As highlighted in first picture this field will be helpful to increase the resolution.
As you can see if we select the 2x resolution then the QCLK pulses are generating for both rising and falling edges or else if we select only 1x resolution then the QCLK pulses are generating for only rising edge.
So, this bit will be helpful to increase the resolution in your measurement.
