AM2432: Hysteresis Configuration for EQEP/ECAP Input Pins

Hello Kevin,

The debounce logic is available on the EQEP module and not on the ECAP module.

Please look at the datasheet below for more details about which EQEP pins can have this feature. 

To enable debounce logic , there is no any support in the MCU+SDK.

But this implementation is simple, you can follow the steps below .

You can refer the chapter below for more details about debounce period configurations for the EQEP.

First, enable the debounce selection  bit on the PADCFG register 

Next, configure the debounce period which you want.

The code examples are all available in the link below. This code is available on the AM62A devices and the same procedure is applicable for the AM64X/243 devices as well.

Thanks for your reply with details.

However, customer is asking hysteresis feature, not debounce. They have implemented debounce already.

For example, in the page 13 of AM24 datasheet, it mentions that some I/O support this feature. 

May I know could you help check how to configure hysteresis feature on the above pins in EQEP or ECAP mode please? Or will it be supported by default?

I discussed with an Hw expert and they confirmed that , Both Debounce and Hysteresis are the same.

If Hysteresis & Debounce are the same, then does that mean if customer configures debounce, then the hysteresis feature is also supported at the same time?

I looked at the data sheet and see the hysteresis values depend on the IO type and has a value associated.

Please search for Hysteresis in the data sheet.

The Pad config could be enabling the fixed hysteresis.

The ST_EN seems to be enabled during reset.
