MSPM0L1306: ADC registers count and Repeat Sequence Conversion FIFO

I would like to know where can I find information how many MEMCTL and MEMRES registers are available in MSPM0L1306 and other variants of MSPM0.

Reference manual SLAU847D contains contradicting information about MEMRES count. For exaple Figure 14-1. ADC Block Diagram shows there is MEMRES0..MEMRES11 but 14.1 ADC Overview chapter says there are "4 conversion-result storage registers (MEMRES0:3).

For Table 14-7. ADC CPU Interrupt Event Conditions (CPU_INT) there is subscript (1), which says "Refer to the device-specific data sheet to see how many conversion-result storage registers (MEMRES) your device supports". However datasheet SLASF59A does not say anything about number of MEMRES.

MEMCTL count is not mentioned anywhere.

If there are only 4 conversion-result storage registers, is it possible to use MEMCTL0..MEMCTL7 for Repeat Sequence Conversion in FIFO mode on MSPM0L1306 ? I would like to configure sampling of more than 4 channels.

You can use MSPM0G series for more than four MEMRES.

If you only want to sample more than 4 ADC channels, that could work with MSPM0L seires, by mannually switch the input channel to MEMRES. For example, first convert A0-A3, then configure A4-A7 and do another conervsion.

While the MEMRES 4-7 can not be used.

Thank you for the reply. However, the question about MEMCTL is still open. How many of those registers has MSPM0L? Can I use MEMCTL0..MEMCTL7 to fetch values to MEMRES0..MEMRES3 in FIFO mode for more than 4 channels?

Hi Slawomir,

The MEMCTL numbers will be exactly the same as the MEMRES numbers. Each MEMRES will have a MEMCTL.
