To add, I am adding dwdReset() throughout the project to make sure the watchdog is reset more than enough, including before Fapi_initiializeFlashBanks().

I am suspecting that the configured expiration time for watchdog may not enough for this case, Fapi_initializeFlashBanks API might have some polling bits which might take more time,

So can you try to increase the preload value further and see the behavior:

My preload value is already set to the max at 4095. With my RTI1 clock at 80 MHz (the default in Halcogen), shouldn't it take 419 ms for the watchdog to expire? That seems like a long time if Fapi_InitializeFlashBanks from the F021 takes that long to run.

Is there anything else that could cause it considering it happens during the F021 Flash API functions? I removed the watchdog and timer interrupt, and my program manages to work with the Fapi library just fine. But when I put them back it, there is a reset whenever I use a Fapi function.
