MSPM0L1106: UniFlash error on downloading firmware to MSPM0L1106 through onchip BSL

Part Number: MSPM0L1106
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UNIFLASH

Tool/software:

Hi Team,

Our product PCB with MSPM0L1106 was ready recently. I tried to program the firmware to MSPM0L1106 through the onchip BSL by using UniFlash, v9.0.0.5086.

The following error was resulted at the end as below and the log file is attached too. Please help to suggest what will be the problem and how to resolve it. Thanks.

  • Hi Alan,

You can verify if your program is functioning normally after burning the firmware, the error message "Image loading falled: Try manual Bootloader invocation" might be a false error message of the software. We have encountered similar issues in the past, but it does not affect the usage. I will further verify this issue with the SDTO team. However, firstly, let's confirm if your code is functioning as expected.

    Best Regards,
    Peter

  • Hi Peter,

Thank you for your support. I tested that the firmware seems work as expected even though the error come out. Please help to follow-up with your SDTO team so that a newer version can come out soon. Besides, I have the following finding and suggestion on UniFlash :

    1. As I tested, UniFlash will have the following error on device triggered BSL mode, by NRS or firmware triggered BSL mode on first time. It need to triggered it for second time. I hope UniFlash can have some mechanism that to check the BSL mode by sending command on pressing the "Load Image" button. It is because this error seems caused by COM open or close by other program, eg. SSCOM.

    2. I hope there is a reboot option for firmware load finished. The options will be :
    - No Reboot.
    - Reboot without enter BSL again. (Especially this option, so the device can work without enter BSL again.)
    - POR reboot and etc.

  • Hi Alan,

Glad to hear that it hasn't affected your application! Thanks for your advice and I'll pass on your suggestion to the SDTO team. If there's nothing else, I'll close this thread. If you encounter any new issues, feel free to submit a new post.

    Best Regards,
    Peter

  • Hi Peter,
